Waverail’s attractive features include a cared for, safe and humane environment for all passengers, day and night, and a station near home.  In term of numbers Waverail™ is way ahead of conventional rail.  The comparative values given here are conservative and can be significantly higher in particular cases.  Comparison is over the lower range of passenger volume and Waverail really excels in the volumes that conventional rail cannot handle.  Also note that the expected boosting effect of DDDSA is not included.  Economic performance figures (costs, profit & Capital payback period) are not amendable to simple percentage comparison and are omitted.


It seems only natural that this amazing physical performance flows through to the economic figures but it has to be kept in mind that this weighs against the Waverail’s high personnel costs.  This is why in low volume applications Waverail is just on par with conventional rail, and both are unprofitable without government subsidy.  But starting from such moderate passenger volumes as averaged 50 passengers per hour, Waverail overtakes conventional rail and starts to generate wealth and pay back capital. It needs only medium transport volumes to make Waverail a profitable venture indeed.
